1. Who We Are

SportConnect is operated by SPORTCONNECT PY E.A.S., a company incorporated in Paraguay, with headquarters in Asunción. We provide a digital platform that connects players with padel and tennis clubs, coaches, and tournaments across the country.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website (sportconnect.me), our web application, and our mobile apps, how we use it, and the rights you have under Paraguayan Law No. 1682/2001 on the protection of personal data and other applicable regulations.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect data that is necessary to operate the platform, provide our services, and improve your experience.

Information you give us

  • Identity and contact details: full name, username, email address, and phone number.
  • Profile information: profile photo, preferred sport, playing level, city, and any bio or languages you add as a player or coach.
  • Booking and coaching data: court and coach reservations, tournament registrations, partner invitations, and messages exchanged with clubs or coaches.
  • Payment information: billing details and transaction records. Card data is tokenized and processed directly by Stripe; SportConnect never stores full card numbers.
  • Support interactions: messages, reports, and feedback you send us through contact forms, email, or in-app support.

Information we collect automatically

  • Device and technical data: browser type, operating system, device identifiers, language, and time zone.
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, clicks, and approximate session duration, used to improve the product.
  • Approximate location: derived from your IP address or, with your permission, from your device, to show nearby clubs and relevant tournaments.
  • Booking and match history: your reservations, tournament entries, rankings, and results on the platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data to run SportConnect and deliver a reliable, safe experience. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
  • Process court bookings, coaching sessions, and tournament registrations.
  • Process payments, refunds, and payouts to clubs and coaches through Stripe.
  • Send transactional messages: booking confirmations, reminders, cancellations, and changes to your bookings or tournaments.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your questions, reports, and reviews.
  • Maintain rankings, match results, and player statistics for the features you choose to participate in.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or breaches of these terms.
  • Improve our platform, design new features, and understand how our users interact with SportConnect.
  • Comply with our legal obligations, including accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements in Paraguay.

4. Who We Share Information With

SportConnect does not sell your personal data. We only share it when strictly necessary to operate the service, and always under appropriate safeguards:

  • Clubs and coaches: When you book a court or a lesson, we share the information they need to host you, such as your name, profile photo, contact details, and booking details.
  • Other players: If you take part in public tournaments, rankings, or match history, your name, profile photo, level, and results may be visible to other users.
  • Service providers: Vetted partners that help us operate the platform, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (hosting and database), Cloudflare R2 (media storage), email and SMS providers, and analytics tools.
  • Legal and regulatory authorities: Where we are required to disclose information by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of SportConnect, our users, or third parties.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, personal data may be transferred to the resulting entity, subject to equivalent privacy commitments.

We never sell or rent your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. Full stop.

5. How We Protect Your Data

We apply technical and organizational measures that are proportionate to the risk, including:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest for sensitive data.
  • Strict access controls, least-privilege permissions, and audit logging.
  • Payments processed by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider.
  • Regular reviews of our infrastructure, dependencies, and internal practices.

No system is ever 100% secure. We ask you to help us protect your account by using a strong, unique password, enabling any security features available to you, and notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes described in this policy, and in particular while:

  • Your account is active and you continue to use the platform.
  • We need it to provide booking, coaching, tournament, or payment-related services.
  • We are legally required to retain it for accounting, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.

When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except for records we must keep to comply with Paraguayan law (for example, invoicing and payment records). Public content such as reviews or tournament results may be retained in anonymized form.

7. Your Rights

Under Paraguayan Law No. 1682/2001 and related regulations, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Ask us to erase your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Objection and restriction: Object to, or restrict, certain processing activities, including marketing communications.
  • Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw any consent you previously gave, at any time.

8. Minors

SportConnect is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Users between 13 and 17 must have the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian to create an account and to make bookings or payments. If you believe that a minor has registered without appropriate consent, please contact us at contact@sportconnect.me and we will take prompt action.

9. International Data Transfers

SportConnect is operated from Paraguay, but some of our service providers (such as Stripe, Supabase, and Cloudflare) may process data in other countries. When personal data is transferred outside Paraguay, we ensure that appropriate contractual and technical safeguards are in place to maintain an equivalent level of protection.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new features, legal requirements, or operational practices. The date shown at the top of this page indicates when the current version was published.

For significant changes, we will notify you in advance through the app, by email, or through a prominent notice on sportconnect.me. Your continued use of the platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
