LATAM Padel's Digital Race: What We See

Padel is growing faster than any other racket sport in Latin America. Courts are opening every month. Players are showing up. But the digital infrastructure to support them? It's still catching up.

A Market Too Big to Ignore

Industry estimates put the total addressable market for padel in Latin America at over $100 million USD. That number covers court rentals, memberships, and coaching bookings across the region.

Despite that size, digital booking penetration sits between 15% and 35% depending on the country. Most players still call the club directly or walk in. That gap represents an enormous opportunity for platforms that get the experience right.

15+ Platforms, No Clear Winner

We've been studying every competitor operating in the region. Right now, more than 15 platforms are competing for padel and tennis bookings across Latin America. The market is active, but it's fragmented.

Argentina alone has five or more local apps fighting for the same players. No single platform has pulled ahead. Meanwhile, well-funded European players like Playtomic and MATCHi have strong positions in Spain and Sweden, but neither has made a serious move into the Southern Cone yet.

That window won't stay open forever.

The Countries Nobody Is Serving

Some markets are barely touched. Paraguay, Uruguay, and Bolivia have growing padel communities with almost no dedicated digital booking options. Players in those countries manage bookings through WhatsApp groups and phone calls.

Mexico and Colombia are more developed, but still fragmented. Chile is competitive. The pattern across the region is the same: demand is outpacing the tools available to meet it.

What This Means for Players

If you play padel in Latin America, you've probably felt this friction. Finding a court means knowing the right people or calling around. Booking should be simpler.

Platforms that focus on court availability, transparent pricing, and a clean booking experience will win players over quickly. The sport is growing too fast for clunky solutions to survive.

We're publishing a full regional market report in Q4 2024. It covers every major market, platform activity, and where the real gaps are. If you want early access, sign up on SportConnect and we'll send it to you directly.
